What We Believe

THE BIBLE

We believe the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God, without any error, the all-
Sufficient authority in matters of faith, doctrine, and Christian living.

THE TRINITY

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons:
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

GOD

God is great:
He is all powerful, all knowing, ever present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, Holy.
It is in Him that we live, move and exist. God is good. He is our Father.
He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises.

JESUS

We believe in the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ, and that He is true God and man.
He died on the cross for the sins of the world, which included all sickness and disease.
He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father and is now our High Priest and Advocate.
His FINISHED work of the cross has purified us who believe from all unrighteousness!

HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is the very Spirit of God who convicts the world of sin, reveals Jesus Christ,
gives the life of Christ to those who repent of sin and trust in Jesus.  He sanctifies and empowers those who believe.
We also believe in the distinct separate event of the baptism of Holy Spirit.
This baptism fills us with the fullness of His power that enables us to walk out a victorious life in Christ.
He provides direction, healing, wisdom, comfort and all we need to live Christ-like in this world.
The Holy Spirit also gives spiritual gifts to each of us as he determines for the purpose of edifying and building up the church,
helping one another and introducing the lost to Christ.

SALVATION

All persons are created in the image of God,
designed for fellowship with God but are separated from God by sin and in need of salvation.
All who believe and receive the message of Jesus Christ are saved eternally.
Your salvation is a free gift. Once received, there is absolutely nothing that you can do that would cause Him to take that gift away.

THE CHURCH

There is one Christian Church consisting of all who believe and receive the Good News of Jesus Christ.
We are called to model Christ, not only as individuals, but also as a community of believers.
We desire to create a community where God’s grace is pervasive and aspires us to holy living.
And, we are called by God, as individuals and as a church community,
to minister to and provide resources for others outside of our own congregation.

BAPTISM

We believe baptism by submersion is an important and vital step in the life of a Christian.
Jesus was baptized and commanded all who believe in Him to be baptized.
Baptism is not regarded as a means to salvation.
It is a public profession of our faith that signifies our union with Christ in
His death, burial, resurrection and our fellowship with His church.

COMMUNION

Communion is celebrated in obedience to the command of Jesus.
We believe the elements of bread and wine (juice) symbolize the body and blood of Christ
who is the final and complete sacrifice for our sins.
We invite all people who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ to share in this with us.
